• What is Command & Conquer™: Tiberium Alliances?
Command & Conquer™: Tiberium Alliances is a free to play, hardcore, MMO-Strategy game based in the Command & Conquer Universe. There is no download required; it plays directly in your browser. You build up bases, research tech, raise armies and form alliances with others to prevail in the fight against The Forgotten and other players. The game is played in multiple short sessions daily and all progress is persistent.

• Is there a Single Player Mode?
Command & Conquer™: Tiberium Alliances supports a Single Player experience,
but it is definitely more fun to battle with others and join alliances to crush your enemies.

• Is there an offline mode?
No. Command & Conquer™: Tiberium Alliances is an online game.

• Is it a Facebook/Social Game?
Command & Conquer™: Tiberium Alliances is not a Facebook game. You do not need to have a Facebook account in order to play Tiberium Alliances. Neither do you need to invite friends to progress or unlock things. Instead, it is a game where you play on a server with up to 50,000 other players in a war for territory and dominance. You are faced with a large variety of strategic challenges ranging from attack tactics, preparing solid defenses, efficient base building, diplomacy to cooperative action against players and non-players. While it has social elements this is a hardcore, strategy game built for core gamers!

I can’t express how happy I am to announce the next installment in the Command and Conquer franchise, Generals 2.  It’s been great to see the enthusiasm and activity within the community over the past year while you waited for more information, and I thank you all for your patience.  Since the announcement of this studio in February, we’ve been listening to your feedback and are excited to bring back the beloved, action-packed game-play you remember from C&C Generals, modernized for a new era, and built on industry leading technology.  What you see today is a tiny taste and just the beginning; we can’t wait to show you more.

Possible no Mod SDK Tools for C&C Generals 2!

As Battlefield Series fan and known Frostbite Engine Expert we probably don’t get Modding tools for C&C Generals 2. As we already learned from the past Battlefield Bad Company 2 Didn’t get Modding tools because the Frostbite 1.5 Engine SDK / Modding Tools were to complex to create mods / maps and require a lot of understanding. It was even hard for the Development Team to use the Frostbite 1.5 Tools. Now we got Frostbite to in Battlefield 3 We also did not get the Modding tools for new Frostbite 2.0 title Battlefield 3. As stated before on Q&A.

Q: Why not give the community the tools to make the maps if there is not time for the devs?
A: We will not release mod tools for Battlefield 3″ “It is not that we don’t want to”. The problem is the engine is to complicated in its current form. And our dev team also have problems with using the Frostbite 2.0 Development Kit.

So far we know it might be possible we do not get Modding Tools for C&C Generals 2 since it runs on the Frostbite 2.0 Engine! We are not saying there isn’t coming one but as we learned from the past no Public Modding Tools for Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3. Now People asking about Community created Maps! Yes, These maps are also build in the Frostbite 2.0 SDK. You can take the Unreal Development Kit as Example… All Scripts, Maps, Sounds, Kismet and more is done in the UDK and not in 3rd party tools.

Still we don’t know what will happens in 2012. So we have to wait for the new C&C Generals 2 title.
Maybe the Bioware Team is creating a easy version of the Frostbite 2.0 SDK Software and build a friendly modding tool of it for Public!

Finally We can speak about C&C Generals 2, Without people not believing us. Well… We are happy to announce that EA’s new studio Victory Games & Bioware are going to release C&C Generals 2 in Year 2013. Yes we need to wait about 1 / 1,5 Year. But this time we going back to Generals but a bit more in the future! and will be deployed on the Frostbite 2 Engine which Need for Speed Run and famous FPS Game Battlefield 3 uses. Upcoming Weeks we will see a new website + brand new Media. EA also told us they are going to provide more in-game press shots!

EA Starts New Strategy Studio: Victory Games

Eric, Global C&C Community Manager, interviews Jon Van Caneghem, Vice President Strategy Games.  Jon joined Electronic Arts in 2009 after nearly three decades in the electronic entertainment industry.  He is renowned for founding New World Computing and creating the best-selling franchises Heroes and Might & Magic.

Eric:  I am here with Jon Van Caneghem, the GM of Victory Games.  Today you announced the name of your new studio as Victory Games – can you talk about what that means?

JVC:  Sure.  Victory Games was created to be the focal point for the creation of strategy games for the Games Label at EA.  Our current focus is making a AAA Command & Conquer game, which I am very excited to be working on.  I’ve always been a big Command & Conquer fan.

Eric:  A new Command & Conquer game?  What can you tell me about it?

JVC:  I can tell you it’s a Command & Conquer game for the PC, but we’re not yet at a stage where I can go into any details—we’ll be prepared to make a more formal announcement later in the year.  We’re not just working on a game, though.  Our general focus is on the future of Command & Conquer.  That means updating a lot of the core technology to create a stable base for future development, and leveraging that work on this first game.

I finally got the GO to lift my dark haze, so I can now announce my new job position here at Victory Games, located within EA Los Angeles. What is my new job?  You – the Command & Conquer Community – are my new dedicated full time job. Every actively involved community needs a strong voice at the studio to represent their opinions! And that will be the focus of my new job. I already know many of the hardcore leaders around the C&C world, but most of them don’t know me, so let me tell you a bit about myself.

Who am I?
My name is Eric, I am 23 years old and I live in Germany, well at least for now, because the sun and warmth of Los Angeles is already calling my name. I have been part of the C&C Community since the release of Generals in 2003. As the years passed by, I worked on different projects and community sites like CnC-Inside. It was in early 2007 when I started to see the community from another side – the EA side. The EA Community Team, which takes care of different EA franchises like Battlefield, Need for Speed and C&C for local European areas, asked me to join their team. I had some really great years collecting a lot of experience working with the community and contributing to projects like CommandCOM with our local Community Managers and APOC. Now, I find myself in the hot seat as your new global Community Manager for C&C, which is quite an honor for me.
